Christoph Otto was born in Berlin in 1966. After his high school graduation, he felt drawn to Spain, where he studied photography in Madrid. With German reunification, he returned to Berlin to study journalistic writing at the Henri-Nannen-Schule.
Since then he has worked for national and international magazines. His reports, features and portraits have been published in numerous periodicals including GEO, Amica, Life Magazine, Geographical, ADAC Reisemagazin, Marie Claire, Merian, Expresso, D-Magazine, XLSEMANAL and IO Donna Magazine. In addition to his outstanding photo series, he can deliver sensitive report texts that are highly regarded for their authenticity and their vividness. He also takes business, portrait and advertising assignments. Magazines, companies, agencies and artists are among his clients.
Christoph Otto’s work has received many awards and has been displayed in exhibitions around the world. Assignments lead him regularly across Europe, Asia and South America. He is able to do justice to even the most difficult of assignments, no matter how sensitive the subject, mastering them with his own distinctly vivid visual language. Apart from his native language of German, he speaks fluent English and Spanish.
Christoph Otto lives in Berlin with his wife and daughter. In addition to his studio in Berlin, he keeps an office in Madrid, enabling him to be available worldwide at short notice.
